Lesson 2: Mixed conditionals
A mixed conditional is a conditional sentence that mixes the past, present or future.
The most common mixed conditional is a third / second conditional (unreal past / present).
This is when we talk about something in the past and its result in the present.
- If I had gone to bed early (last night), I wouldn't be tired (now).
- If you had called Lucy (yesterday), she would know about the meeting (now).
- She would be happier (now) if she hadn't taken that job (last year).
